Saturday 23 June 2017, the Saint Lucia Association with assistance from the Saint Lucia National Lotteries hosted a Good Governance seminar for Executive members of SLVA and their affiliated clubs. This is part of the Associations drive to increase the technical and educational capacity of its affiliates, geared towards producing an effective national pool of leaders.
The seminar hosted at Auberge Seraphine was geared towards increasing the leadership capacity of affiliated executive members. A total of twenty five individuals attended the seminar which drew on the expertise of three presenters. Dr. Elizabeth Serieux currently an assistant professor at University of South Carolina, Ms Laurencia Cadette, a seasoned marketing and communications executive and KIttian banker Ms. Pauline Slack all imparted their knowledge to the participants.
The presentation covered areas such as leader, motivation, contingency planning as well as touching on the specific roles of the Treasurer, Secretary and PR or communications officer. The mission statement and vision statement was then presented to the participants.
The Saint Lucia Volleyball Association plans to continue its mandate of providing quality training to its members.
