THREE matches are on the card this weekend as volleyball action resumes in the 2017 Bank of Saint Lucia-sponsored Guy Brown Memorial League now into its second week of competition.<\/strong><\/p>

On Saturday in the ladies division, from 4:00 p.m., Team 758 (Windward School Team) will play Le Club 2 at Vide Boutielle Secondary School while 758 Phoenix will look to continue their winning ways when they meet Le Club 1 at the Laborie Court at 4:00 p.m.<\/p>

In the men\u2019s division, 758 Team (Windward School Team) will play Le Club at Vide Boutielle Secondary School.<\/p>

The tournament will take a break on Sunday for Jounen Kweyol activities.<\/p>

Meanwhile, last Saturday, in ladies action, Dig Set Point Volleyball Team defeated Team 758 Volleyball (Windward School Team) 3-1. In the first set, DSP nosed ahead 25-16, but Team 758 Windward School Team bounced back to win the second set 25-13. From there, it was all DSP as they went on to win sets No. 3 and 4 by 26-24 and 25-22.<\/p>

Dig Set Point\u2019s male team, like their female counterparts, made a clean sweep as they breezed past Team 758 (Windward School Team) in straight sets: 15-25, 25-15, and 25-15.<\/p>

Le Club 2 female had the better of South Stars Volleyball 3-0 while in the male division it was sweet revenge for South Stars as their male team defeated Le Club 3 by 3-1.<\/p>

Jetsetters Volleyball defeated 758 Phoenix Volleyball 3-1, taking sets No. 1 and 2 by 25-20 and 25-23, but 758 Phoenix rallied their troops together as they powered their way to a 17-25 win in the third set. Jet Setters, the more experienced of the two teams, regrouped going into the fourth set to defeat 758 Phoenix 25-8 and win the match.<\/p>

Last Sunday, Jetsetters Volleyball female defeated Dig Set Point female 3-0. Set scores: 25-10, 25-17, 25-17.<\/p>

In the men\u2019s showdown between Jet Setters and Dig Set Point, Jet Setters had the better of their rivals 3-1 despite DSP winning the first set 22-25. Going into the remaining sets, Jet Setters proved too strong as they went on to win the next three sets 25-22, 25-10 and 25-20.<\/p>

In ladies action, 758 Phoenix Volleyball finally got their range right as they defeated South Stars Volleyball 3-2.<\/p>

758 Phoenix, under the watchful eyes of team captain Asher Hunt, and including players such as Carmille Clerice, Abigail Charles, Sherri Charles, Trisha Charles, Carmi Talbert, Elika Hunt, Sherrea Hunt, Aniah Polius and Kerissa Thomas, had first win in this year\u2019s tournament.<\/p>

South Stars were on fire as they opened their account with a 25-23 win in the first set, but 758 Phoenix were determined as they captured sets No. 2 and 3 with scores of 25-23 and 25-20. However, South Stars came back to win the fourth set 29-27 in a ding dong battle. Going into the final set, 758 Phoenix kept their confidence to win it 15-12 and the match.<\/p>

Meanwhile, in the battle for bragging rights between Le Club Volleyball 2 and Le Club Volleyball 1 female teams, Le Club 1 was made to work hard for their 3 -0 win. Set scores: 25- 8, 25-23 and 25-27.<\/p>
